Lessons & Coaching
Amber Joy Koeppen is the professor of harp at Appalachian State University and runs a private music studio offering harp, voice and piano lessons to both children and adults. She is classically trained with degrees in Harp Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from UNC Charlotte and a Master’s in Music from the University of Michigan. Her students are active musicians who have been accepted into notable music programs, performed in various venues across the United States, and have been prize winners in solo competitions. Amber's teaching style is dynamic: blending technical precision with heartfelt expression. She nurtures creativity, instilling in her students the confidence to explore new horizons and embrace their unique voices. Her empathetic approach fosters a supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential. She is dedicated to preparing students to be successful performing artists, and to help them thrive in musical careers.

-Students can sign up for a weekly lesson time of 30, 45 or 60 minutes. Regular practice at home between lessons is expected, so students will need a harp of their own to practice on.*
